 Fenix Gallery Video (1min 46sec): Fenix Gallery. "Since 1989, the Fenix Gallery has been the home for a group of artists predominantly from Taos. This gallery aspires to show artists who live and work in Taos and wish to be here simply because they are here. And maybe they do have markets elsewhere, but this is their home. And so we proudly have their work.
"The gallery chose mainly mid career artists but also some deceased artists now and historically well known artists and sometimes very emerging artists.
"A year ago the gallery moved to this very historic building purportedly built in the 1700s... It's very classic adobe with a long portal and has been beautifully renovated. But more pertinent to its home now, from 1937 until '53, a woman ran this as the first contemporary art gallery in Taos and she showed the artists, many of whom are now considered or called 'The Taos Moderns'..."
