Boat Driver Jetske

"She's the smallest person on the Esperanza, but today our boat driver, Jetske, went up against two of the biggest ships in this part of the southern ocean.

"Well inside supposedly 'protected' Antarctic waters the factory ship Nisshin Maru, which Greenpeace has been chasing for the eleventh day, was trying to refuel.

"This is a pristine environment which Japan among many other nations has promised to protect. Today, once again, that promise was broken. From the Greenpeace ship Esperanza we radioed the Nisshin Maru warning that our inflatable would come along side to prevent the refueling and demanded that they leave Antarctic water to resupply and then continue back to Japan..."
