Video (3min 29sec): Happy Christmas (War Is Over) is John Lennon's Christmas song that has become a classic. It's also an important 'anti-war' song because it was a part of Lennon's "The War is Over" campaign throughout America in the 60s. The war must be over in your own mind before it can be over on the whole planet.
"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is a song by John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono. It was recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York City in late October of 1971, with the help of producer Phil Spector.
Although the song is a protest song about the Vietnam War, it has become a Christmas standard and has appeared on several Christmas albums.
