Marking a Grisly Execution in New Orleans |

The gruesome execution of Jean Baptiste Boudreau II was carried out on this day in 1757, and his body was cast unceremoniously into the Mississippi River. Today, some of Boudreau's descendants gathered in New Orleans to give him a proper funeral and finally put his soul to rest, 250 years after his death.
