The 2nd Annual “Women On Pedestals” Fashion Show at Wilder Nightingale Fine Art Was Big Hit
Zandi put Women On Pedestals (where they belong), in the second show of artistic fashions by Zandi Designs at the Wilder-Nightingale Fine Art Gallery, on Sat. July 9.
“Women On Pedestals” presents fashion as art, in a gallery setting, with models posing as living sculptures. This unique show was collaboratively created by designer Zandi and gallery owner, Rob Nightingale. Wilder Nightingale Fine Art has assisted new and seasoned art collectors to acquire original art since 1990. The gallery represents over 35 leading and regional artists. The works are eclectic. From traditional landscapes in oil, pastel and watercolor the gallery also offers a selection of contemporary and abstract styles. Leading artist’s such as Ray Vinella, Tom Noble, Judy Gentry, Rory Wagner, Gretchen Ewert, Margaret Nes and Stephen Day make this gallery a must see when visiting Taos.
Zandi (aka Sandra Richardson) loves to create flowing styles that flatter the female form, are fun and easy to wear, and low maintenance. “I enjoy recycling vintage fabrics such as opulent embroidered saris from India and hand-woven silks from Laos into contemporary styles. The clothes travel really well, pack light, no wrinkles, and are wash & wear, no ironing.”
“My mission is to dress women of all shapes, sizes and ages in a way that makes them feel like a goddess, allowing their inner beauty can shine out. But I don’t believe you need to suffer for beauty, my motto is: “Goddesses Don’t Iron!”
Zandi was really pleased about the second annual Pedestals show. “I think it’s the only one in the world like this. I have fabulous real-people models, like artist Gretchen Ewert, and singers Barbara Jones and Les Lokey, to show the clothes off beautifully. On my last trip around the world, I found wonderful new and antique fabrics for this collection. Recently, I got a big thrill when I saw one of my fabrics used in one of the leading lady’s costumes in Star Wars III.” Who says Taos isn’t hip?
The second annual “Women On Pedestals” show was a great opportunity to experience something totally different!
