Wherever you are..., visit Taos using VR Technology. Apple's Quicktime? Virtual Reality (VR) makes it possible as these early versions show. Unique view into actual Taos using immersive technologies. These virtual reality images are a view into Taos like no other..., not quite. Want a real virtual reality tour of Taos? Here are some images made by J. R. Ransom of Taos MultiMedia Studio a few years ago. On-line virtual reality (VR) panoramas require a special tripod attachment with dual leveling bubbles and 380 degree click-stop.
A series of 18 photographs are made using a digital camera. These photographs are first processed in the computer as individual photographs. Then the photos ar uploaded into a special VR application that stitches the photos together using a 1/3 overlap on each side. The application then applies an edge distortion while outputting. This selection of virtual reality panoramas includes: Gusdorf Road in afternoon, Inside Lama Foundation Dome, Lama Foundation's Intensive Studies Center after Hondo Fire, Inside Parks Gallery with Steve Parks and Susan Embry from Webb Design, Outside Southwest Moccasin and Drum, North Pueblo Road, Inside Southwest Moccasin and Drum, Taos MultiMedia Guild Studio - Marcus Allen's Workstation 1998, Taos MultiMedia Guild - Todd Haack's Workstation 1998, Taos MultiMedia Guild - J. R. Ransom's Workstation 1998.
