 Protesting Monks "For days they've led a country, the monks of Myanmar take to the streets determined to challenge the military dictatorship. They raised Buddhist flags as they marched through Yangon and Mandalay chanting religious mantras and calling for peace and democracy.
"Those calls have been answered by armed troops and police who blocked their way preventing demonstrators from reaching the holy shrines in Yangon symbols of past resistance to this oppression..."
