Arte de Descartes VII
Arte de Descartes VII Video - This local Taos video (2min 17sec) is about the seventh annual trash art and the singular Glam Trash Fashion show party, The Stables Gallery and Courtyard, August 25, 2007, Taos New Mexico. Taos has its own style and fashion sense. This video gives a glimpse.
Arte de Descartes VII, seventh annual recycled art show took place from August 25 - September 8, 2007 at the Stables Art Center located at 133 Paseo del Pueblo Norte in Taos. This show represents an unusual collection of artistic expression, all made from mostly recycled materials. Traditional recycled art like patchwork quilts, rag rugs, rag dolls, forged metal, collage, sculpture, mosaic are all made with ingenuity from bits and pieces of whatever is on hand. It encompasses many different mediums because our waste stream is so vast. Sponsored by local non-profit Wholly Rags and juried by esteemed artists, Tom Noble, Ed Larson and Maye Torres, participating artists are represented from coast to coast.
