 Mahatma Gandhi
Gandhi is a great example of someone who transformed himself and the lives of many others when he shifted from self-consciousness to other-consciousness. From childhood to early adulthood, Gandhi felt awkward and self-conscious. He was shy and had many fears. Only when he became captivated by a passionate mission- a sense of purpose larger than himself-was he able to transcend his fears. |

 We Are The Web
The common goal behind all social causes is to raise awareness or consciousness surrounding a particular issue, motivating thought and taking action. In order to be effective, it requires committed people with incredible focus and an interested audience. In the past, these movements burned an incredible amount of time simply reaching out, trying to spark interest, educate and usually exhausting resources preventing asking for the support required to further the cause. |

 Industrial Hemp
The first drafts of the United States Constitution and the Declaration of Independence were printed on hemp paper. Not surprisingly the original Levi Strauss jeans made for the Sierra gold miners were made of hemp sailcloth. Alice in Wonderland was originally printed on hemp paper. Rudolph Diesel designed his namesake engine to run on vegetable oils, including hempseed oil. Hempseed oil once greased machines. Most paint, resins, shellacs, and varnisheswere made out of linseed and hempseed oils. Much of the bird seed sold in the United States has hemp seed in it. Hemp seed contains about 25% protein of which is more easily digestible than soybean protein. |

 DruggingTo Death?
Medication commercials tend to bear this out. In some cases a commercial may spend as much time telling you about the side effects as they do about the benefits of the pill they are selling.
Some medications have been recalled because of unacceptable side effects and even death in the most severe cases.
In some circles it is believed that there has become an increased psychological dependence on prescribed drugs. Others contend medical professionals are recipients of funds if they prescribe certain medications in favor of others.
While this may be simple speculation the net effect of life in the 21st century is that most Americans have a laundry list of prescription dugs they feel compelled to take. |
