Snowboardig in Taos

Taos Ski Valley has some of the best terrain in New Mexico..., and perhaps North America. 4200+ people there and we rode up to the lifts most of the day! They say the lot, which holds 4800ish, fills up before the mountain. Taos is a very nice mountain and we will be going back next season! It was awesome to be a part of this epic event!

Taos Ski Valley is a village and alpine ski resort in Taos County, New Mexico, United States. Until March 19, 2008, it was one of the few resorts to prohibit snowboarding; officials announced the change several months in advance. The climate, culture, and geography resemble a Swiss village, including an elected city council. The ski area, Taos Ski Valley, Inc., was founded by Rhoda and Ernie Blake, and is still managed by the Blake family. It has a one to one ratio of expert to beginner/intermediate terrain, and has the highest rated ski school in North America.

Dead GM Field

The next morning we meet a farmer who cultivates GM crops. He only wants to be filmed from behind. He doesn't want to be th black sheep of the community. Only because he was willing to speak to us about the negative aspects of cultivating GM soy. But there are plenty of negative aspects to talk about.

"He shows us what the soil looks like where GM soy is cultivated. Dry and dead from the use of the special herbicide. They kill every plant except the soy. But now some weeds are becoming resistant. Back on his farm, he shows us the soy. It is being stored under a tarpaulin. The farmers are dependent on Monsanto. The combination of patented GM products and herbicides has turned out to shackle the GM farmers. Nobody here is able to quit anymore..."

He criticizes the license papers of genetically modified soy beans. He found misinterpretations, false conclusions, and disregarded data...."
