Video (6min 42sec): Eckhart Tolle, Quite Ordinary - Eckhart Tolle is author of a world best seller book "The Power of Now". Eckhart Tolle points toward the "spaciousness" that surrounds every object and every event in our lives. It must be obvious, but maybe to many of us unnoticed.

Eckhart Tolle claims to have attained enlightenment at the age of 29 after suffering long periods of depression. Tolle's non-fiction bestseller, The Power of Now, emphasizes the importance of being aware of the present moment as a way of not being lost in thought.

In Tolle's view, the present is the gateway to a heightened sense of peace. "Being in the now" also brings about an awareness that is beyond the mind. This awareness helps in transcending "the pain-body" that is created by the identification of the mind and ego with the body. His later book, A New Earth, further claims to explore the structure of the human ego and how this acts to distract people from their present experience of the world. His other works include Stillness Speaks, a book that modernizes the ancient sutra form.

Svalbard - High Hopes in the High Arctic is video trailer (4min 9sec) for an upcoming environmental documentary. Svalbard, the world's northernmost permanently settled location, is under threat. Climate change and pollution transfer present a serious challenge to both flora and fauna.

In 2006, Svalbard had the highest positive temperature deviation on earth, making it the poster child for global warming. The shrinking sea ice has brought with it both hazards and opportunities.

The climate is not the only thing heating up.
Russian territorial claims in the High Arctic have recently intensified and the environmental practices in Barentsburg, the existing Russian settlement, continue to raise concerns.

Healing Secrets With Deepak Chopra: Spirit and Healing. We turn to Deepak Chopra, one of the genuine sages of our age, for insights into the mind-body-spirit interplay.

In this segment, Deepak describes the effect of a deep spiritual experience. According to the ancient wisdom traditions of India, when you get in touch with your spirit, you experience love, knowingness/intuition and happiness. In physical terms, this means that your body produces serotonin and dopamine - the happy hormones; oxytocin - the pleasure hormone, and opiates - which provide a feeling of intoxication and help regulate the immune system.

Deepak Chopra: "In scientific terms, there's a potential inside you which gives rise to both the observer and the observed, and the whole process of observation. So, you know, spirit is what I'm observing, spirit is what I'm processing my observation through, which is my mind, and spirit is the observer that is doing the observing..."
