Finance Ministers Plot Cure For Crisis PDF Print E-mail

Finance ministers from the 27 European Union countries meet in Luxembourg Tuesday to consider what, if anything, their governments can do together to stop the spreading financial crisis. French President Nicolas Sarkozy promised Monday that "all necessary measures" would be taken to ensure financial stability. However, individual European governments disagree over what should be done.

Nano Production Hits A Pothole In West Bengal PDF Print E-mail

The Nano, which is billed as the world's cheapest car, was supposed to roll off an Indian production line this month. But that hit a snag when Tata Motors announced it had to build the car somewhere else. The company closed the new plant in the state of West Bengal following violent protests.

Nobel Panel Decides Against U.S. HIV Discovery PDF Print E-mail

The 2008 Nobel Prize for physiology or medicine went in part to two French researchers for discovering the virus that causes AIDS. The award was not shared by American Robert Gallo, who has also claimed a role in the discovery of HIV. Additionally, a German scientist got the prize for establishing the cause of most cervical cancers.
