Video (11min 33sec): Impact of Landmine Activity Across Asia 2 - People & Power explore the devastating impact of landmine activity across Asia.

"There are 120,000,000 land mines laid across the world, which kill or maim someone every twenty minutes. Afghanistan has the third highest land mine casualty rate in the world, after Columbia and Cambodia. It is one of the world's most mined countries. This has forced ordinary Afghans to learn to clear land mines for themselves..."

"In the earliest days of humanitarian mine clearance we all knew that some mines are gonna be missed. That's reality. But you want the daily life of the majority of people of a country to be normal, whatever that is."

Farid Homayoun - Halo Demining Program: "The first mine laying was done by the Soviets in the 80s. The second mine laying was done by the Mujhadeen actually and a lot of mines of different origin were used against the Soviets. Then the third layer was actually in the conflict between the Taliban and the Northern Alliance..."

Al-Qaeda in Pakistan Plans Election Chaos Video (3min 1 sec) features Syed Saleem Shahzad reporting via telecom from Karachi, Pakistan. "I have gathered from my recent trip to tribal areas where I had some meetings with some rather high-profile militants and they were pretty much obsessed with what they call 'harooj' in Pakistan. Harooj means revolt.

And revolt means that it would be very much different from the previous strategy like isolated suicide attacks. Revolt means they would build a surge, a serious surge in Pakistan...

Al-Qaeda today is very much restructured. Compared to 2006, it has very much restructured. They have formed committees... like military committee, like the religious committee, like coordination committees.

And they have established independent cells all over the Pakistani cities. And each cell doesn't know the whereabouts and the nature of other cells..."

Radical Christian Missionaries in Iraq Video (9min 8sec - German with sub-titles). While innocent people are getting killed everyday in Iraq Christian missionaries are trying to convert Muslims to Christianity.

Anja Reschke: "They are talking about holy war. They see themselves as martyrs. For them, other religions are heresy. You will probably think it's about radical Islamists. No, this time we are talking about radical Christians.

"There are several millions of these fanatic fundamentalists in the U. S. A.. Thanks to them George Bush became the president. But the activities of these Christian fanatics aren't limited just to the U. S.. They want to convert the whole world to Christianity.

"A sudden chance is given to them, with the start of the war in Iraq. Just after the occupation, came the missionaries. While people get killed every day they are trying to convert Muslims to Christianity. In most cases secretly, but with permission of US government..."

Benazir Bhutto
This video (3min 15sec) gives a view of the story of the Life and Times of Benazir Bhutto of Pakistan.

Benazir Bhutto has been an iconic figure in Pakistan's politics for decades - and had been carrying on a family legacy that has had a lasting impact on modern day Pakistan. Nick Clark takes a look at the life of the charismatic leader, who's death has shocked a nation and all peace-loving people of the world.

"If it means sacrificing our lives, if it means sacrificing our liberty to save Pakistan, then we are prepared to risk our lives and we are prepared to risk our liberty. But we are not prepared to sacrifice our great nation to the militants."

"Military rule is the cause of anarciac situation in Pakistan. Military rule is not the solution. Extremism thrives under dictatorship."

Bush has made Pakistan a major ally, yet the country is governed by a military dictatorship that controls only the eastern part of the country. The western part of the country is controlled by Islamic thugs and stone-age tribal chieftain who totally support Taliban and Al Qaeda. Also, the Pakistani ISI intelligence service has launched many, many terrorist bombings targeting innocent civilians in neighboring India. To this bad lot, Benazir Bhutto sought to bring a new way of life.

India's Newspaper Boom
India's Newspaper Boom
With US & Euro newspapers just about dying, India's are booming. This video (9min 34 sec) examines that. "This is the age of the Internet and for most of the global newspaper industry that means trouble.

The World Association of Newspapers (WAN) reports that in the European Union the past five years circulation for paid newspapers are down more than 5%. It's a similar story in the US. Now compare that to India where over the same five year period newspaper sales are up over 50% and advertising revenues up over 85%. India now has more daily newspapers than any other country including China...

Two thousand daily newspapers in at least fifteen different languages... In India newspapers have a vast and growing potential readership of over 330 million people. That's more than the size of the population of the United States... This market began it's phenomenal growth back in 1991 when India liberalized it's economy."
