The fabulous Taos Solar Queens are back in action. Taos Plaza saw a special appearance of the legendary Taos Solar Queens doing some of their finest numbers.
A huge crowd of awed admirers greeted "The Queens", as they are affectionately known locally. The Solar Queens are pretty anonymous but if you look hard enough you can maybe stop someone you know.
Steve Fulhendorf from Taos Country Chamber of Commerce was completely thrilled to be tapped for the honor of introducing The Taos Solar Queens, and he came prepared with special tinted glasses so he would not be blinded by the radiance of the Queens.

Taos is the mountain we live beneath. Many say that they have come here to heal. It is a sacred place. The mountain, it is said, will 'spit you out' if you are not meant to be here. The mountains are monumental. It is a place where synchronicity happens every day. People speak of 'knowing' and 'feeling'. It is a spiritual place and has drawn peoples here for centuries. It is obviously a place of great beauty. The light is magical. The air is pristeen. It is a major marketplace for artists and collectors from all over the Southwest and the country. Musicians poets and writers come to create and perform. If you love history, Taos is a fascinating mixture of the old and the new..." |
