Senator Jack Reed Video (4min 21sec):Good evening. I’m Senator Jack Reed from Rhode Island, and I was privileged to serve in the United States Army for 12 years. I opposed the war in Iraq from the beginning. It was a flawed strategy that diverted attention and resources away from hunting down Osama bin Laden’s terrorist network. And since then, too often, the President’s Iraq policies have worsened America’s security. Hundreds of billions have been spent. Our military is strained. Over 27,000 Americans have been wounded, and over 3,700 of our best and brightest have been killed. Tonight, a nation eager for change in Iraq heard the
President speak about his plans for the future. But once again, the President failed to provide either a plan to successfully end the war or a convincing
rationale to continue it. The President rightfully invoked the valor of
our troops in his speech, but his plan does not amount to real change.
Soldiers take a solemn oath to protect our nation, and we have a solemn
responsibility to send them into battle only with clear and achievable
missions. |

Reporter Jane Akre Important Health Video (9min 59sec) about Bovine Growth Hormone (BGH): Fox News Kills Monsanto Milk Story - Investigative news report regarding cancer-causing additives to milk by Monsanto is shut down by Fox News executives.
Steve Wilson: "What Fox told us was we were just the people to be the investigators." Jane Akre: "Do any stories you want. Ask tough questions and get answers. So, I thought this is great, this is a dream job. The very first thing they had us do was not to research stories but to shoot this promo which was 'The Investigators'. And they had a film crew and a smoke machine and we were silhouetted." Steve Wilson: "One of the first stories that Jane came up with was the revelation that most of the milk in the State of Florida and throughout much of the country was adulterated with the effects of Bovine Growth Hormone, the artificial hormone that farmers were injecting into their cows so that they would produce more milk..." |

Prez Candidate Ron Paul Video (20min 18sec): Ron Paul Takes Aim at Big Business. Texas Congressman Ron Paul talks about the problem of state-business collusion, among other pressing issues. "Conservatives have been in charge here these last six years for sure and to a large degree even since 1994, and they've always peached, you know, balanced budgets and limited government but we've gotten exactly the opposite. We're living way beyond our means. We're passing on all the problems and all the debt to the younger generation.
And in order to tide ourselves over we have a pretty good scheme going for us where we get to print the world currancy - which is the dollar - they still accept the dollar even though less so every single day. There is currently an attack on the dollar and interest rates are rising. We spend too much every place whether it's policing inside our borders or outside our borders. Just think of what they do with the drug wart and patriot act and of course there's so much economic intervention. They spend a lot of money there..." |

Jeremy Scahill Video (4min 24sec): Blackwater, the Shadow Army of America is a video in which The Nation's Jeremy Scahill describes the rise of Blackwater USA, the world's most powerful mercenary army. "One of the most frightening developments in the occupation of Iraq and the so called war on terror is actually something most people have very heard of. In addition to the 150,000 troops that the US has on the ground in Iraq, the Bush Administration has deployed a shadow army of some 100,000 contractors. Of these tens of thousands of heavily armed mercenaries that roam Iraq with impunity. Among the most powerful of the companies operating in Iraq is Blackwater USA, a secretive company based in the wilderness of North Carolina. It's headed by a right-wing Christian-conservative bank roller of President Bush and his allies. And Blackwater envisions itself as the 'FedEx' of the national security apparatus. But the reality is that Blackwater has become a prime player in the war on terror and nothing short of President Bush's Praetorian Guard." |

President Bill Clinton A Video (4min 42sec) Message from President Clinton speaking about his wife Hillary Clinton's run for president of the US. "I'm really proud of the way Hillary's Campaign is going, about the big goals she setting for America and the plans she has to achieve them. But there are a lot of things about Hillary you may not know that occured in her life before she ever became a US senator. When we met over 35 years ago in law school, I was interested in public office, but she wasn't. She thought she'd never run for anything. She was just interested in public service. In law school she worked for legal services for poor people and she took an extra year at the Yale Child Study Center at the Yale University Hospital to study about children and the law. When she graduated, she could have written a job ticket anywhere. She turned down all of the lucrative job offers and instead took a job at the children's defense fund because she wanted to help poor children. After working at the House Judiciary Committee, she came to teach in the law school and to be with me. And again she set up a legal aid clinic for poor people. President Carter appointed her to the national board of the Legal Services Corporation. And she became the board chair when she was only 29 years old...." |
