Clinton & Obama Why is Obama Winning So Many States?? is a video (6min 50sec) from Young Turks about the substantial differences in the campaigns of Barack Obama who uses grassroots support with many 'field offices' and Hillary Clinton's style of using the old 'establishment' techniques of high paid consultants, media spin and focus on large states.
"Here's what's happening in the caucus states. Hillary Clinton is locking up the establishment folks, like Washington's a good example. She got the two senators from Washington to endorse her. State of Washington. And she got the party leaders to support her. And old establishment way of thinking is 'check OK I've got Washington in the bag. I've got my folks set up there. I've got my endorsements. Lets move on.'
Obama's saying, 'yeah that's cool. How 'bought we get a lot of young guys and girls and we get them all jazzed up and we have them spend two months, three months, six months getting people to say come on show up to the caucus, show up to the caucus we're gonna have an awesome time we're goin' to the caucus we're gonna Rockkkkk! As they say very passionate volunteers. And it turns out that Obama's strategy is better.. |

South Carolina Win! On the back of large support from the state's black voters Barack Obama has defeated former first lady Hillary Clinton convincingly in the Democratic presidential primary in South Carolina. Kimberly Halkett reports in this video (9min 47sec). So far, Hillary Clinton has won by the smallest margins. Barack Obama has won by huge majorities.
Big voter turnout in South Carolina has given Barack Obama fresh impetus in his bid for the White House. Obama seized an overwhelming victory in the Democratic primary where Black voters gave him a much needed campaign boost over Hillary Clinton.
Kimberly Halkett: "Well it certainly was a big wim for Barack Obama. He has been looking for this after back-to-back losses both in the US state of New Hampshire as well as the western state of Nevada. (He) really felt that they needed this victory in South Carolina if he was to continue some momentum moving on to what's called 'Super Tuesday'. That's when twenty two US states are holding primaries or caucuses..." |

Immigrants in Iowa Immigrants Changing Iowa's Cities video (2min 53sec). In Iowa immigration is a big issue.
According to the US government, the number of Hispanics there has increased by 150 per cent since 1990. Mike Kirsch takes a look at the changing face of one Iowa town, as the candidates make a final appeal to voters before the all important Iowa caucus.
In Postville, Iowa, illegal immigrants from Guatemala and Mexico find Iowans by their side in a parade of solidarity, a way of thanking them for doing the low-paying jobs that drives the economy here, a job that most Iowans can't stomach doing, cleaning the blood and guts of slaughtered livestock off the 'kill floor' of the town's meat packing plant."
Once a $20 an hour job for Iowas in the previous meat packing plant which burned down, now an $8 an hour job for Latinos. After Hassidic Jews from Russia arrived and began operating the largest Kosher meat packing plant in the US and the largest source of work in this town. |

Rumsfeld & Troops You didn't hear about this on the mainstream news at all. In October, Taos resident Donald Rumsfeld was hit with Torture Lawsuit in France. This video (9min 33sec) tells a little bit about that.
On Visit to France, Donald Rumsfeld was hit with a Lawsuit for Ordering, Authorizing Torture.
The complaint was filed with the Paris prosecutor's office as Rumsfeld arrived in France for a visit. This is the fifth time Rumsfeld has been charged with direct involvement in torture since 9/11.
We speak with two attorneys with the plaintiffs -- Center for Constitutional Rights president Michael Ratner and Jeanne Sulzer of the International Federation of Human Rights.
Rumsfeld, in Paris for a discussion sponsored by the magazine Foreign Policy, was tracked down by representatives of a coalition of international human rights groups, who informed the architect of the US invasion of Iraq that they had submitted a torture suit against him in French court.
According to Ratner, France has a legal responsibility under international law to prosecute Rumsfeld for torture abuses. |

Intense Video Intro This intense video (4min 24sec) begins with interview on Democracy Now and leads into Immortal Technique - Cause of Death. This item was just too powerful Not to post.
"Well, what's going on there, as I've said on this program before, the Democrats have essentially caved in. Finally, McKasey, when he made an answer to the question of water-boarding, yeah well ya know I'm not sure what the technique is and then he says 'well I'd don't know. If it's torture, then I'm against it."
Democracy now: Rumsfeld is investigated in France for war crimes including torture. Is water boarding torture? Does it depend on how it's done? How about crucifixion?! Can democrats tell right from wrong?! Are we living under a 1 party system?!
