Take Manhattan "They sentenced me to 20 years of Boredom,
Trying to change the system from within,
I'm coming, I'm coming to reward them,
First we take Manhattan..., Then we take Berlin.
Jennifer Warnes - 'First We Take Manhattan' Video (3min 44sec). Jennifer Warnes' classic cover of Leonard Cohen's 'First We Take Manhattan' from her Famous Blue Raincoat record, recently re-issued on CD with bonus tracks on Shout! Factory.
'First We Take Manhattan' is a song written by Leonard Cohen. It was originally recorded by Jennifer Warnes on her 1987 album Famous Blue Raincoat, which consisted entirely of songs written or co-written by Cohen. Bush Has Fun Happy New Year 2008 Wherever You Are in the World!
The Obama Girls Sing to George Bush in the "You're So Lame" video (3min 37sec) a sort of intelligent "street" view of how many, many people in America feel about George W. Bush. The 'real' people in so many countries know what 'real' life is about while the rich, well-dressed, but lame elite just acquire more and more. This little video makes fun of their 'ultimate puppet'.
You're so Lame...a holiday tribute celebrating the arrival of 2008, and the upcoming exit of President Bush. Directed by: Larry Strong and Kevin Arbouet. Music & Lyrics: Leah Kauffman. Featuring: Leah Kauffman, Amber Lee Ettinger, Jen Block, Sena Khoda, David Feingold, and a host of others around the country who sent videos.
Lyrics: "You're so lame. You won't get that this song is about you. You're so lame. You're so lame. The Republicans know they should doubt you, doubt you, doubt you. Doubt you. Doubt you. You were never very bright. Your judgment's even weaker. You can barely read our write. We were all very worried..." |

OK. The first thing you need to do is get youself a free-range chicken. I don't care how you do it. Buy one, Hunt one down with a knife..."
"The Wedge" is an Australian sketch comedy series set in Wedgedale, a mythical suburban paradise full of disturbingly real characters who show a curious loyalty for the place they call home. |

Half Way There Funny comedy Video (1min 26sec) of Matt McAllister of 99.9 KTYD in Santa Barbara, CA, setting the Guinness World Record for the most t-shirts worn at once. That's 155 t-shirts, folks.
Comforting, well-balanced, and disarming aren't the adjectives you'd usually use to describe a morning DJ, but Matt McAllister_-_the number-one radio personality in Santa Barbara_-_is all of the above. As the front man and mastermind behind 99.9 KTYD's The Early Show, he's a complex man made up of calculated and unconscious contradictions.
On-air, he cracks crude jokes and pushes the masculine buck, while off-air, he's emceeing nonprofit functions up and down the coast and genuinely caring for the town where we live. What's not so complex_-_but what makes his competing sides co-exist beautifully_-_is that Matt McAllister is the undisputed funniest person in Santa Barbara. |

John & Yoko Video (3min 29sec): Happy Christmas (War Is Over) is John Lennon's Christmas song that has become a classic. It's also an important 'anti-war' song because it was a part of Lennon's "The War is Over" campaign throughout America in the 60s. The war must be over in your own mind before it can be over on the whole planet.
"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" is a song by John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono. It was recorded at Record Plant Studios in New York City in late October of 1971, with the help of producer Phil Spector.
Although the song is a protest song about the Vietnam War, it has become a Christmas standard and has appeared on several Christmas albums. |
