 | During the Summer of 2008 we've made a number of improvements and upgrades.
We have changed Internet Service Providers (ISP) for taosplaza.com to facilitate the use of many new upgraded technologies in keeping with Web 2.0. Rather than using a local ISP, after 12 years taosplaza.com has moved. taosplaza.com now resides on a mainline server in a major city to allow much faster page loading and content access, as well as the ability to grow much larger, much faster.
The taosplaza.com site features a completely new 'look' using the latest Web 2.0 Cascading Style Sheet (CSS) technologies that are very user friendly and extremely rapid in displaying taosplaza.com's interesting, entertaining, and informative progressive Web content anywhere in the world.
For the many international visitors to taosplaza.com, we have added a new translations module that translates into 23 languages besides English.
The new taosplaza.com menu system allows you, the site visitor, to access content more directly than with the old menu system. The new pull-down menus allow you to select a topic of greater interest to you bypassing topics of lesser interest.
We've replaced our old Moon Phase display with a new one that is way cool.
We've added a new front panel login for staff contributors.

| Well, yes and no. It's like taosplaza.com doesn't 'cover' Taos, New Mexico. taosplaza.com does post a whole bunch of the tastiest articles and videos from Taos. If you want local news taosnews.com does town coverage and wins many awards for it. See taosdaily.com, too. They are the pulse of the day to day stuff of the town of Taos.
But taosplaza.com as an online magazine is like the global 'idea' or even the 'ideas' of Taos. Taos in cyberspace (i. e., 'the Web') is it's own thing. If you want to see what that's like we operate a public service free-of-charge Web site with 2,000+ links to genuine Taos Web sites at taoslink.com.
Rather than being about the past, for 10 years now, taosplaza.com has always been about the future. The future of art, and environment, solar, technology, lifestyle, and several other interesting topics. But above all, taosplaza.com has been playing with the future of the Web.
So yeah, I'd say taosplaza.com is 'about Taos' in a way that is bigger than the actual town. In a way that is global or 'worldwide'. And actually, taosplaza.com is growing fast at a rate of hundreds of interesting videos, articles, and news posts and delivering tens of thousands of Web pages to viewers each month.
Maybe you don't think an article or a video about an island sinking in the Pacific is relevant to Taos, but it is. It's relevant to 'the greater mind-set of Taos".

| No and Yes. We have changed the advertising system of taosplaza.com so you can no longer buy advertising directly from taosplaza.com. However, you can advertise on taosplaza.com through google AdWords. You would need to set up an advertiser account at google.com and then specify that you want to run ads on taosplaza.com and put in your bid.
Also: Near the end of 2008, taosplaza.com will be again testing a new advertising system within the taosplaza.com site to provide ad sponsors of taosplaza.com an easy and very affordable way to send immediate qualified traffic to their Web site. |

| We don't want taosplaza.com to be overtly commercial. We do have google link advertising, but taosplaza.com isn't necessarily 'commercial'. We would like to just be able to focus on the topics of the content, rather than hire and administer an advertising staff to chase down sponsors. Donations can be made with credit card or PayPal. | J. R. Ransom first registered the taosplaza.com URL in 1998. In June 1999 the first taosplaza.com site content was posted in static form. In March 2004, taosplaza.com was upgraded to dynamic operation using Mambo CMS (content management system). While I was in India in May 2007, working with Phil Taylor in the UK, taosplaza.com was upgraded to Joomla 1.0.12 CMS, and began current operations on about June 1, 2007 - which is the date the statistic counter began the current site counting operation. |

| The "taosplaza.com Group of Web Sites" is a group of taos-prefix Web sites associated with taosplaza.com and owned/operated by Taos Music & Art, Inc. (TMA) owned by J. R. Ransom and Allyn Rose Ransom. Some of the sites in the group were begun within taosplaza.com, such as taoslink.com which was first started within taosplaza.com as "taosplaza.com bookmark favorites" in 1999 and later 'spun off' to it's own URL in 2000.
