Kim Mance and Maren Hogan headed down to New Mexico to check out the artsy and adventure-filled town of Taos.
The Summer of Love festival and 40th Anniversary of the cult classic film "Easy Rider" gave us a little inspiration.
"Now here's the Taos pueblo, and it's a amazing place really. Lot of building is more than 1000 years old and have been continuously habited. Which is incredibly about the history of United States being so young compared to that.
Visitors are welcome unless they have something going on with the tribe itself. It's a very traditional place. There is no electricity allowed. There is actually no running water in the homes and though there aren't many tribe members left, those who are living in these traditional pueblos inside the walls, they actually still get their water from the river here which comes from the Blue Lake which is all closed off to non tribal members.
It is a very beautiful place. They are very welcoming. You can see some of the shops. There is food and it is really really spectacular place to see.
