Benefits Of Solar Energy Solutions For Household UseSolar power is free and there is most certainly no shortage of it. Of late, there's been a constant growth in the call for for alternative and renewable power like solar power. Photovoltaic or solar energy is environmentally friendly and replenishing, unlike the fossil fuels which nearly all utility plants burn to generate electrical power. It isn't going to generate harmful by-products of any sort, so is pollution free. Because it does not release greenhouse gas, it doesn't contribute to climatic change.

Increasing numbers of property owners are moving over to household solar electrical power systems, and dropping off the power lines. Some people are paying to have solar systems mounted by a professional, while some are assembling their own solar panels by using a line of solar cells. Personally, I belong in the latter group, and have been making my personal solar panels for electricity.

Solar Electricity - Take Advantage Of The Power Of The SunWhen asked about alternative energy or renewable energy, most people think of solar electricity. Generating electricity from the sun is a technology that everyone knows well. Whether it is your pocket calculator, home, or workshop, regardless of your power needs, solar electricity can get the job done.

Solar electricity has a number of unique advantages over conventional or grid-based electricity. Solar panels for electricity systems can be designed for a variety of applications and are extremely beneficial in remote areas where other electric opportunities do not exist. In addition, photovoltaic systems that generate solar electricity have no moving parts, therefore requiring minimal maintenance, are easily expandable, and with many smaller units, transportable.

Solar Cooking with the CooKitEver thought that maybe -- if we did just one thing each day toward sustainability -- we could make a difference?

Inspired by a documentary about www.solarcookers.org and the CooKit, Taoseña Melody Romancito gives it a whirl with a potato-carrot curried stew.

"The kit comes with about everything that you need - the folding cardboard, the reflector panels, a small black roasting pan, clothes pins, everything.

"It's mid February, but the pan steamed..., and everything smelled sssooo good.

"There is something very satisfying about being able to feed yourself without having to take up fuel, no matter whether that fuel is firewood or electricity, propane or microwaves.
