"The skis are our tools. Modern skis have 3 important characteristics. 1- They are flexible length-wise. You can bend your skis by putting pressure on them. 2- They are not flexible width-wise. This means that they won't flatten out when pressure is placed on the edges. The design of the ski keeps the edges at an angle to the snow. Last but not least, they are shaped like an hourglass. The middle of the ski is narrower than the top and bottom.
The main objective for Alpine Skiing is to turn. By turning, you control you speed and your direction. Uou make your skis turn by edging them...
