About four minutes into his interview with the Bold Fresh Piece of Humanity known as Bill O'Reilly, George Stephanapoulos manages to get the king of Fox News talk to rule out a 2012 presidential campaign, saying he's got more power at FNC than he would in the White House. As if that's not funny enough, O'Reilly adds that Sarah Palin wants to run for President -- he's just not sure if she will.

The Giannoulias family has had some legal problem of late, and some worried that would rub off on Alexi. It doesn't seem to have done that to any significant extent. A year ago, Alexi's fav/unfav was at 36/15. This week, it was at 49/34. Democrats like him at a clip of 71/14, while Independents are still positive on him 47/35.

Kyl Threatens to Block Unemployment Insurance Extension

How despicable can these guys get? Unemployment insurance and COBRA subsidy extensions expire in three days. Reid stripped the extensions out of the jobs bill that just passed in order to keep the bill narrowly focused and get it passed, which worked. Reid attempted to bring a short term extension last night under unanimous consent, but was blocked by Bunning.

Republicans are spending every ounce of their breath saying some combination of the following:

  1. Start over
  1. Your plan isn't popular
  1. We've got a plan too

Here's the thing about #2 and #3: to the extent that they're true, their plan is less popular than the Democratic plan. Much less popular. People may not like the bills passed by the House and Senate (Congress is never popular), but even now, they still trust President Obama over Republicans on health care -- and by a wide margin.
